Important Durability Updates and Sizing Information

Compared to previous models of the Men’s Altra Lone Peak this is the most durable model since the 3 and or 3.5 models. During the last 5 months at 7000 Feet Running Company we have received detailed feedback from our customers that they are getting on average 100 more miles from the Men’s Lone Peak 7 compared to models 6 and 5. As always we tell customers that this is a higher volume standard width trail runner. People who need more space but are not traditional men’s 2E, 4E, wide and or extra wide width will love the Men’s Lone Peak 7.

Details For Trail Runners

Designed with Altra’s Original Footshape last, the Lone Peak 7 and Olympus 5 are Altra’s highest volume trail running shoes. Altra removed stitching in the upper to help prevent hot spots and which also increased upper durability. They added a reinforced heel cup to provide additional stability on downhills while making the heel cup more durable. At 25mm of stack, combined with Altra’s EGO midsole and Stoneguard rock plate you can confidently tackle any easy run, long run and ultra distance. Runners in and around Salida, Co use this shoe to tackle the Colorado Trail, Continental Divide Trail and Salida Mountain Trails with ease.

Hikers love the wide forefoot that allows ample room for 20+ mile days while carrying a 20+ pound pack. Those prone to foot swelling during long days at altitude are big fans of the extra space. The 25mm of stack height is ample enough for long days on the trail while being responsive on long descent on the famous thru-hikes in Colorado.

Altra’s signature rubber outsole is excellent for the dry, sandy and loose terrain found in the mountains surrounding Salida, Co.

• Trailclaw Lugs

The 4mm lugs of the Men's Altra Lone Peak 7 are angled to increase traction when running uphill and downhill. Each lug cuts into the terrain when running downhill while providing a larger surface area on the backside to keep feet stabilized when running up steep ascents.

• EGO midsole

Altra’s softest and most durable midsole provides excellent cushioning for long outings without adding weight.

• Stoneguard

Provides runners and hikers added protection when needed on rocky and variable terrain while This flexible rock plate is approximately 1 mm thick and allows trail enthusiasts to get information from their feet without abusing the metatarsal pads, arch and heels.
